Acceptable Use and Academic Integrity Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Tesify exists to strengthen your writing and your learning, never to replace them. This policy explains what the tool does, what it does not do, and how we expect you to use it so that your work remains genuinely yours.
The principle: authorship is yours
The ideas, arguments and conclusions in your final year project, dissertation or thesis have to be yours. Tesify organises the structure, suggests improvements on what you already wrote, builds your references and lets you check your own originality, but it does not draft your work for you and it does not relieve you of understanding and answering for everything you submit.
What Tesify does
- Structure: organises your document into coherent chapters and sections.
- Writing support: suggests phrasing and improves the clarity of paragraphs you already wrote.
- Citations and references: applies APA format (or another style, if your department requires it).
- Originality check: flags passages worth citing better or rewriting, before you submit.
- Formatting and export: leaves the document ready in Word, PDF or LaTeX.
What Tesify does not do
- It does not write your project from scratch for you to present as your own without having contributed anything.
- It does not guarantee that your submission will pass any detection system, and it is not a tool for evading your university’s checks: the originality check is an aid to your own review before submission.
- It does not invent data, sources or citations. Every source you use must be real, verifiable and checked by you.
- It does not replace your university’s regulations, your supervisor’s instructions, or your duty to declare the tools you used where that is required.
Uses we do not accept
Using Tesify to generate a project you did not meaningfully write, to invent citations or data, to circumvent your institution’s integrity rules, or to present as entirely your own a work produced with artificial intelligence assistance when your programme requires you to declare it, is a breach of these terms. We reserve the right to suspend accounts used in a way incompatible with the purpose of the tool.
Follow your university’s rules
Academic integrity rules vary between universities, faculties and departments, and sometimes between supervisors. Some require you to declare the use of artificial intelligence tools; others restrict it further. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules of your programme, and to consult your supervisor or your department if you have any doubt about a specific use.
